Since the Industrial Revolution,people have used significant resources to manufacture products,only for the products to later be disposed of,such as in landfills.This study focused on identifying metal-enriched zones in landfills using non-destructive prospecting methods to easily recover valuable metals.Here,we attempted box experiments using excavated waste samples as well as field prospecting experiments,focusing on an industrial landfill site.Results indicated that measurements of induced polarization(IP)are useful for detecting metal-enriched zones in landfills.
