  There are releasing a large amount of heavy metals waste water in smelting process,such as: cooling water,smelting cinder flushing water,acid waste water,etc.This kind of waste water containing harmful elements such as lead,cadmium,zinc,arsenic,etc.,which cause serious pollution to the environment.The traditional heavy metal wastewater treatment didnt work well,so we need to explore new methods of heavy metal wastewater treatment.Treatment of the zinc smelting plant waste water by the technology combined electrocoagulation technology with membrane system was introduced.The relationship between the treatment effect and some influence factors,such as initial pH and electrode gap,were analyzed.The influence factors to the membrane flux which are important parameters to ultrafiltration membrane and the effect of the operating pressure to the removal efficiency of the reverse osmosis membrane towards different heavy metal were investigated.After treated with this novel technology,the waste water recovery rate of the waste water reached 65%-70%.
